This series of new teacher networking sessions offers new teachers a learning community in which they will have the opportunity to meet with other area teachers to network and seek advice and moral support. Participants will be given a safe space to discuss topics relevant to teaching, voice their questions and concerns, share ideas, and celebrate their victories. Discussion will expand beyond what teachers may get from a district mentoring program, focusing less on paperwork and deadlines and more on specific classroom instructional needs.

There will be a total of five meetings throughout the school year. Our first meeting will be an in-person dinner so that everyone can get to know one another and help develop topics for future workshops. The next three will be hour-long discussions over Zoom. The final workshop will again be in-person to reflect upon the year and share in all that we gained throughout the year.

This opportunity is paid for through ISBE’s Instructional Coaching Pilot Program.
