English teachers Kelly Gallagher and Penny Kittle collaborate to share how they plan all 180 days of the school year. They complied all of their hard work into the co-authored text, 180 Days: Two Teacher and the Quest to Engage and Empower Adolescents. This asynchronous workshop will focus on a new chapter each week, covering a wide range of topics meant to help middle school and high school English teachers strengthen their curriculum and daily practices. Some of the topics covered in their books and throughout this workshop include the following: establishing daily practices; mapping a year of both reading and writing; balancing feedback and evaluation; and planning narrative, informational, and argumentative units.
