Training session one will cover fundamental concepts in computer science (CS), including its definition and how it differs from computer literacy (CL). It will introduce computational thinking and CS practices, and provides an overview of the Illinois Computer Science Standards. Training session two will cover fundamental concepts in computer science (CS), including its definition and how it differs from computer literacy (CL). It will introduce computational thinking and CS practices, and provides an overview of the Illinois Computer Science Standards. This third session will introduce physical computing. Participants will learn how to differentiate between hardware and software and explore how they work together. During the training, participants will create projects that reinforce computer science concepts as well as identify ways these hands-on projects can be incorporated into content area projects. This final session will focus on reflecting on the learning journey and developing actionable plans for integrating computer science into classrooms.
